THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EVERYDAY AND FORMAL LANGUAGES

DSC08346.jpg

Everyday language varies from the official language in that the speaker's relationship with the language is more direct. The speech is impromptu and uninhibited. There are usually no attempts to beautify words, nor is there a search for words. It is not rhetoric, but a word with a simple structure, a folk word and seasonal words.

The vocabulary used in everyday language, naturally, have their literary equivalents. But in order to make the speech more intimate, we spice them with phrases and idioms.

In the phrase շուկան կրակի գին ունի ՝which literally means "the market has a price of fire", for example, the word "expensive" is replaced with the word "fire", giving a picture of the word.

or

- Where does he live?

- Seven districts away. .

Instead of saying "far" we say ‘’ seven districts away’’.

Everyday language is also expressed in phrasal words.

Here are some idioms:

լեղին փրթաւ- վախցաւ- scared of

տարիք առնել - մեծնալ- to age

գլուխ արդուկել- ձանձրանալ - to be bored

ձեռք նետել- ձեռնարկել- to undertake

օր ու արեւ - կեանք - life

աչք դնել - հաւնիլ to like

սիրտս անցաւ - անօթի եմ I’m hungry

In conclusion, everyday speech is considered a part of folklore and serves to enrich and enhance fiction.
